Don McKenzie University Scholarships
Worth $3000 for each of 3 years of University study.  This scholarship is awarded  to two students from Timaru Boys' High School annually. Applicants need to have a good academic record and achieved prominently in one or more sports. The value of each scholarship is $3,000 for three years ($9,000 total value).

Jim Wakefield Scholarship
This scholarship, for study at Canterbury University, has a value over three years of $13500.  Selection is on the basis of academic achievement, personal qualities, financial circumstances and the candidate must have spent 3 or more years at Timaru Boys' High School.

Alan & Melvyn Burnet Charitable Trust Scholarships
Are you off to University next year? Would $2,000 help? The Charitable Trust of Dr Alan Burnet is offering scholarships for a student from each of Timaru Girls High School and Timaru Boys' High School. There are 2 x $2,000 Scholarships available, one at each school. The scholarship is open to Year 13 secondary school students at Timaru Girls High School and Timaru Boys' High School. The funding will be provided to the successful applicant when confirmation of acceptance of chosen study has been received.

Admiral Sir Gordon Tait University Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2008 in memory of Admiral Sir Gordon Tait (TBHS 1935 to 1947). It is awarded to one student from Timaru Boys' High School and has a maximum tenure of three years. It is awarded for all round excellence and financial need consideration of academic achievement; leadership potential; sport, cultural and community activities; financial need. The value of the scholarship is $4,500 for each of three years ($13,500).

The following scholarships are available for boarders attending Thomas House.  Each scholarship is worth $2000.
