Rowing - 2009
Rowing is on the improve at TBHS this year with a squad of 18
rowers competing at regattas. There have already been some
great results with the South Island Championships being the
most notable.
The senior novice crew of Scott Buckingham, Jesse Smith ,
Jared Sanderson, Aziz Askin, with Hooper Kelly-Smith
as coxswain won 2 golds in the four and quad. Jared
and Jesse combined to win the double. These five boys
also went will with a third in the novice 8.

The Under15 four, quad and double all won golds. This
crew consisted of Brad Ryan, Cameron Crampton, Russell
Crampton, Daniel Lorimer with Hamish Callaghan as
coxswain.

The Under16 four of Ethan Borcovsky, Ben Morgan, Tom
Merrilees and Tyler Collings are steadily
improving and are a constant threat.


Brad Wills and Patrick Hill complete the
squad. Patrick has been drafted into the novice 8 for the
national championships.
The attached photos are from the recently held South Island
Chamionships at Lake Ruataniwha Twizel. The squad will be
off to the Maadi Cup in Hamilton at Lake Karapiro in late
March.
