Anti Drink-Drive Short Film Competition
Congratulations to our two Year 9 boys who won National honours in an open
(year9-13) film making competition for Students Against Drink Driving (SADD). The
film had to be under 5 minutes long, based around an anti-drink driving message
with an underlying theme of peer pressure. There were two categories: General
Admission and Maori & Pacific Island focused.
The SADD/Blue Light Short Film Competition, which is proudly sponsored by Turners
Auctions, received over 50 entries from schools around the country and was
narrowed down to only a few finalists. Tom Roberts and
Jason Hunt from 9TU put weeks into their movie and were rewarded
for their efforts by being placed 3rd from more than 50 entries. Their prize
included $250 for the school and $250 for themselves plus they were flown to
Auckland for the awards.
Keep a look out over the next four years as these boys build upon TBHS video
successes.
