Brett Clifford (left) was dominant in winning the Timaru Boys' High School Senior cross country which was held in wet underfoot conditions at the Scenic Reserve this week. Clifford won by 35 seconds from Tom Charteris with Josh Westland a further second behind. This was an especially impressive win by Clifford who ran a1 hour and 21 minutes half marathon two days earlier as part of his sports studies course at school.

After a close battle at the front of the intermediate pack Alex Smith strode away to win by 2 seconds from Tom Deeley. Jonathan Lord was 45 seconds behind Deeley.

In the junior section, Hamish Dewar was almost as dominant in winning by 23 seconds from Luke Cullen with Jordan Howie-Beattie another 6 seconds further back.

The minor section was slightly closer with Adam Chamberlain taking out by 15 seconds from Mackenzie Basford with Marc Rooney coming in 3rd.  Over 500 boys competed in the cross country event which is compulsory for all students.
