GOLF - 2009

Winter Tournament

The Senior A Golf Team travel to Cromwell and stayed there for three nights. This year Cromwell College joined St Andrew’s, Waitaki BHS and Timaru BHS to form a quadrangular tournament. We played at Alexandra Golf Club on Tuesday in wet and cold weather although the course was in good order. On Wednesday we were to play at Arrowtown but it snowed overnight there so we played at the Cromwell Golf Club. On Thursday we were to play at the newest championship course, Jack’s Point, but it was too wet so we played at Millbrook. The Tuesday competition was a pairs ambrose net, on Wednesday a medal competition, and then a four-ball best ball on Thursday. After the first day TBHS was fourth, the second day fourth but they all played extremely well at Millbrook and were second to St Andrew’s after three competitions. There were some notable scores here. Damian Rogers at a 76 gross and 61 net; Michael King a 79 gross and a 65 net; Kori Patrick a 93 gross and a 64 net and Rupert Jackson a 90 gross and 65 net.

A very enjoyable and very closely competed three days Ž one each at Lower Waitaki, Timaru and Shirley Golf Courses. All boys played well to add to the team total.
