THOMAS HOUSE SCHOLARSHIPS

The following scholarships are available for boarders attending Thomas House. Each scholarship is worth $2000.

A.D. Major Scholarship

The recipient must be in need of financial assistance and have shown both the ability and the desire to succeed scholastically. Normally the scholarship will be tenable for the number of years the recipient boards at Thomas House and remains eligible to hold the scholarship.  It must be re-applied for each year.  This scholarship is available to applicants at all year levels.

Sir Roy McKenzie Scholarship

A general scholarship for new entrants at year levels 11, 12 and 13.  The applicant must show that he will make a significant contribution to the school academically, in sport or culturally.

ImageThomas House Jubilee Scholarship

A general scholarship for new entrants at year levels 9 and 10.  The applicant must show that he will make a significant contribution to the school academically, sporting or culturally.

Ministry Of Education Boarding Bursary

Eligibility for these bursaries is made on the grounds of:

These bursaries are worth $2725 a year and sometimes a travel allowance is also available.

McKenzie-Villiers Primary Schools' Scholarship

Open to primary school boys who have not attained the age of 14 on 1 December and can swim 100 metres and take an active part in leadership activities of the school.  Canterbury University administered and worth $3000.

Making Application

Scholarship application forms are available from the Business Manager and close with the Rector on 30 November.  The closing date for the Senior Scholarships is 31 January.
